It was moved by Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Councilman Steele, that the fore-
going bills be allowed. Upon roll cell vote all five Councilmen present voted in the
affirmative and motion was declared carried.
INTRODUCTION OF NEW COUNCILMEN
This being the time provided by law and rules of the Council for introduction and
installation of newly elected Councilmen Mayor Anderson requested the retiring City Attorne,
Mr. Daly to at this time present Yr. William A. Paddock Councilman -elect for the First Ward
Mr. Daly in a few well chosen words stated that the citizens of the city, by their ballot,
had confirmed beyond doubt the action of the City Council whereby Mr. Paddock was named to
fill the position left vacant by the passing of Councilman John M. Carroll.

Councilman Eronimo seated
At the request.of the Mayor, Mr. Daly escorted to his seat and introduced Mr. Tony
P. Eronimo Councilman -elect for the Fourth Ward; and upon completion of Mr. Daly's well
chosen and delivered words of introduction, Councilman Eronimo was seated and embarked upon
his official duties.
Mayor Anderson at this time expressed his appreciation to members of the Council for
their fine cooperation during the preceeding term and asked that such cooperation be contin
ued during the ensuing term to the end that the City of Port Townsend might receive the
greatest possible benefits from the services of the City Officials.
APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES
Various applications for licenses for the fiscal year 1949 were presented, read and
acted upon, as follows:

It was moved by Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Coun cilman Steele, that the
request of Mr. Rowe for a cab stand in the main business area be denied. Motion carried.
