It was moved by Councilman :.:ueller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the
proffered contract be accepted provided thatthe conditions of such contract conformed to
those provisions in the existing contract; and that the Mayor and Uity Clerk be authorized
and directed to execute said contract for the city. Upon roll call vote Councilmen Sullival
Paddock, Yueller, Steele, Gleason, and Benedetto voted in the affirmative, and Councilman
Osborne voted in the negative and motion was declared carried.

Various bulletins from the Assoc. of Washington Cities were received and ordered filed
in the office of the City Clerk.
OkD1NANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
General Petroleum Franchise ordinance
An ordinance providing granting permission to General Petroleum Corporation to install
pipe line over, upon and across certain streets in the City of Port Townsend, which was
read in full for the first reading at the last regular session of the Council and is
Incorporated in the minutes thereof, was presented and read in full, at this time, for the
second rending.
Third reading and passage
It was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Mueller that the third
rending of the ordinance be by title only. Upon roll call vote Councilmen Sullivan, Paddoc ,
Dueller, Steele, Gleason, and Benedetto voted in the affirmative and Councilman Osborne
voted in the negative and motion was declared carried.
The ordinance under consideration was read toy title only for the third reading and
upon completion thereof it was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman
Steele that the ordinance do new pass. Upon roll call vote Councilmen Sullivan, Paddock,
dueller, Steele, Gleason, and Benedetto voted in the affirmative and Councilman Osborne
voted in the negative and motion was declared carried.
UNFIN1SHED AND NHP! BUSINESS
Canvassing board now appointed.
The City Clerk advised the Mayor and members of the Council that the date provided
by statute for the canvass of election returns would occur prior to the next regular sessio
of the Council and that provisions should be made at this time for a board of canvass for
the city primary election held upon this date.
The I'Myor named,as a committee, to canvass the returns upon the city primary election:
Councilmen Steele, Gleason, and Mueller.
ADJOURNIBENT
There being no further businesa appearing for consideration by the Council at this
time, it was moved by Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Councilman Steele, that the
Council do now adjourn. Notion carried.

The CITY COUNCIL of the City of port 'Townsend, 'Washington, met in regular session
this 16th day of November, 1948: at 7:30 o+olocl: P.M., in the Council Chambers of the
City Hill, Mayor Anderson presiding.

son; City Attorney W. Daly; City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen l;'illiam A. Padd-

YINU'1'ES OF PREVIOUS SESSION '
The minutes of the last regular session of the Council were read in full and upon
completion thereof it was moved by Uouncilman Steele., and seconded by Uou,:&,lman Sullivc
that the minutes be approved as read. ,'.lotion carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS -
City Treasurer
The monthly report of the City.Treaeurer for the month of October, 1948, was presente
read, and was referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims.
Chief of Police
The monthly report of the Chief of Police for t'qc month of October, 1948, showing
arrests and discositioniof cases, was presented and read, and was referred to the Uommitte
on Police and License
Water Superintendent
The monthly report of the Plater Supt. for the month of October, 1946, was presented
and read and was ordered filed
The report of the :later Liupt. showing the fyotiv of water through main lines meters
for the week ending Novembor 15, 1948, and the Crown Zellerbach meter for the week ending
November 6, 1948, was presented and referred to the Committee on water and Drainage.
