Motion carried. Ltotion carried.,'', Resolution He: Death Councilman Carroll r Councilman Gleason, at this time, requested of the Mayor permissionto present a resolution out of the regular order of business, and, such permission being given the clerk'+' read the resolution presented, in full, as follows: f , RESOLUTION No. pppp'^; • RYr.�'t t r WHEREAS, the City Council df the City of Port Townsend has learned, with profound regret, of the death of John w. Carroll, Councilman from the First Ward and Mayor pro tem of said city, and, °f WHEREAS, the untiring attention of Lr. Carroll to official duties during Xa his tenure of office in the body has been of incalculable benefit io the orderly development and operation of the government. of the.,city, and his fair t : and intelligent counsel a stimulation to fellow members and city employees,t`` v:? f therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council do now stand in recess for such period of time as the May6r may determine as a mark of respect for his memory and appreciation of his services, and :j BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this redolution be spread upon t ' the minutes of this meeting and a copy transmitted by the Mayor and City Clerk personally to the widow of the deceased. Led by the Mayor, the entire assemblage present in the Council Chambers arose and ,stood in complete silence for a short period as a mark of respect to the memory of Council- man John Y. Carroll.
