E. Anderson presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and members present at roll call were as follows: Mayor, H. E. Anderson; City Attorney, W. J. Daly; City Clerk, 0. F. Christian; and Councilmen H. E. Gleason, A. Benedetto, Goo. J. Osborne, Dennis Sullivan, Geo. F. Mueller, and Ralph H. Steele. 13UDGET SESSION Mayor Anderson announced that the purpose of this session was the consideration of the City Budget for the year 1949, as.provided by Statute. The City Clerk stated that the preliminary budget, as revised and approved by the Mayo. had been placed on file; and that proper notice of this fact and of the hearing to be held on this date had been published in the Port Towns end Loader as required by law. t3UDGET CONSIDERATION Mayor Anderson. announced that consideration of the City budget for the year 1949 was in order at this time. Consideration of the budget as filed in it's preliminary form -by the Mayor, was under- taken by the Council upon the basis of each separate item of the various divisions of the respective funds, and changes made were as hereafter set forth. Durrent Expense budget Under the division designated"City Clerk1l, the item "SdSarty, City Clerk" was reduced from $3,600.00 to 43,300.00; and under the division designated 1k•'ire Department11 the item "Salaries, Three '1'nuck Drivers" was changed to tlSalaries, 4 Truck Drivers" and the amount was increased from 49,000.00 to $10,200.00, the item "Wages, Relief Driver" was eliminated, the item "Repairs and Replacements" was reduced from $1,500.00 to $1,400.00, and the items "Expense for Fire School",and °Burfsoing'areuna;:Fire Hall" were eliminated entirely. No other changes were considered necessary or advisable in any of the other divisions of the Cufrent,Expense Fund, nor in any other of the various funds considered. Changes Confirmed It was moved by Councilman Gleason, and seconded by Councilman dueller, that the unanimous changes set forth in detail above be herewith confirmed and adopted. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carri Complete Budget Adopted It was moved by Councilman Gleason, and seconded by Councilman Mueller, that the City Budget for the year 1949,as revised at this session, be now adopted; and that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby directed to prepare the necessary ordinances to confirm the said budgets for presenatation at the next regular session of the City Council. Upon roll .call vote, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion of Councilman Gleason, seconded by Councilman Sullivan, the Council voted to adjourn. A.full, true and correct copy of said Budget, as herewith adopted, is appended hereto.
