Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carridd. UNFINISHED AND NE71 BUSINESS Increased garbage rate proposed It was moved by Councilman Gleason, seconded by Councilman oteele, that the City Attor- ney together with the Committee on Health be instructed to prepare an ordinance providing for an increase in the garbage collection rates commensurate with the financial needs of the department; provided that the rate so set shall not be less than the sum of seventy-five cents per can per month. Follo::'ing discussion of several aspects to be considered motion was put to a vote and carried. Re: Insurance on Garbage trucks Coundilman Sullivan reported that ohs of the garbage department trucks had been lm involved in a collision and that investigation had shown that the insurance company with which this vehicls.�had been insured, heretofore, would not.renaw this policy. This matter vies discussed briefly by the Council but no action was taken. Taxi License increase proposed Councilman Benedetto stated that he felt that the present license on taxi cabs was too low and moved that the licenting of taxis provide for an operator license in the sum of $100.00 dollars plus the sum of ten dollars per yenr for each cab onernted. This motion w¢ jjj seconded by Councilman Gleason, and upon roll call vote all six Couneilmenepresent voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Re: 1949 Pin Ball licenses It was moved by Uouncilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that in order to properly prepare an estimate of receipts for the 1949 budget the Council go on record at this time as anticipating the receipt of license fees for pin ball games for the year 1949. Upon roll call vote Councilmen Steele, Gleason, Sullivan and Carroll voted in the affirmati Councilmen Osborne voted in the negative and Councilman Benedetto was excused from voting and motion was declared carried. ADJOURNMENT No further business appearing for consideration by the Council at this time, it was moved by Uouncilman "ullivan, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the Council do now adjourn. E. Anderson presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and Members noted present upon roll call were as follows: Mayor H. E. Anderson; City Attorney W. J. Daly; City Clerk C. F. Christian; and Councilmen H. E. Gleaso A. Benedetto, Geo. J. Osborne, Dennis Sullivan, Geo. Mueller, and Councilman Steele arriving during session. Councilman Carroll was excused from attendance. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session were read in full and upon completion thereof it was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the reading of the minutes of the last regular session be postponed until the n,.xt regular session. The monthly report of the 'Water Supt. for the month of August, 1948, was presented and read and was ordered filed. The report of the Water erupt, showing the flow of water through main line meters for the week ending September 20, 1948, and the Crown Zellerbach meter for the week ending September 11, 1948 was presented and read and was ordered filed. 0 BUILDING PERMITS Requests for building permits were presented, read and acted upon as follows: From R.
