COFMUNTUA'TTUNS Various dommunications were presented, read and acted upon as follows: From Shell Oil Co., to -wit: September 3, 1948 Ec t!iTo the HONORABLE KAYOR and CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Reference is made to our letter dated August 10 wherein we applied for the extension of franchise covered by Ordinance No, 1095, a carbon copy of which letter was also directed to Yr. W. J. Daly, City Attorney. Mr. Daly has written to us suggesting that we prepare and submit to you a new Ordinance using the same language of the expiring Ordinance No. 10965leaving the annua payment therefor in blank. Accordingly, we attach in duplicate copy of suggested Ordinance and we shall appreciate you favorable consideration of same. The cost of publishing the proposed Ordinance in your local newspaper will be borne by us. It it is decided to increase the annual payment over and above the �?15.00 per yea we are now paying, will you please advise us 90 that the matter may be further con- sidered.
