Gentlemen:
Reference is made to our letter dated August 10 wherein we applied for the
extension of franchise covered by Ordinance No, 1095, a carbon copy of which letter
was also directed to Yr. W. J. Daly, City Attorney.
Mr. Daly has written to us suggesting that we prepare and submit to you a new
Ordinance using the same language of the expiring Ordinance No. 10965leaving the annua
payment therefor in blank.
Accordingly, we attach in duplicate copy of suggested Ordinance and we shall
appreciate you favorable consideration of same. The cost of publishing the proposed
Ordinance in your local newspaper will be borne by us.
It it is decided to increase the annual payment over and above the �?15.00 per yea
we are now paying, will you please advise us 90 that the matter may be further con-
sidered.

Councilman Carroll stated that it had been mutually agreed among members of the C m nci
at the time of the renewal of a similar franchise with Union Oil Co. that the annual fees
for such franchises be set at the sujA of $25.00. All Councilmen present signified their
approval of this amount and the ordinance accompanying the foregoing letter was read in ful
for the first reading as follows:
