Petition re: House 'Trailers at Park.
A petition protesting the parking of house trailers in Chetzemoka Park was presented
and read, as follows:
PETITION
We, the undersigned, residents of the City of Port 'Townsend, Jefferson County, State
of Washington, and residing near Chetzemoka Park in said city, and believing that the
City of Port Townsend, through;the City Council contemplates enlargement of trailer park
located in said park, and being opposed to any such enlargement of such trailer park, do
object to any such enlargement of said trailer park; and do further submit and recommend
that any trailer park located in the City of Port Townsend should be separate and apart
from the park, and should be situated at some different locality so not to interfere with
the natural uses for which said park was dedicated.
An actual count of signatures attached was not made, but it was estimated that the
petition bore approximately 150 signatures.
Councilman Mueller stated that this was a matter for the Park board to determine;
inasmuch as the operation ofthe park is the responsibility of said board, rather than that
oft:the City Council. Further discussion of the subject was to be delayed pending the
arrival of Mr. T. H. baker Jr., Park board Member; but,as it appeared that there were no
other subjects to be discussed, the discussion was resumed under the order of unfinished
and new business.
