Chief of Police
The monthly report of the Chief of Police for the month of July, 1948, showing arrest
and disposition of cases was presented and read and was referred to the "ommittee on Polic
and License.
City Attorney
City Attonney Daly rrpoabed that City Engineer Jones had completed a survey to impeve
rove a certain portion of Lawrence Street by the installation of standard type curb and
gutter. The section to be improved would be from Harrison St, to Polk St. where such
curb and gutter is not now installed. Funds for this work would be provided by assessment
against abutting property so improved. -Mr. Jones, in counsnitation with the sub -contractor
doing the cement work for the street lighting contract, had arrived at an approximate
figure of 2.00 for lineal foot for such work. Mr. Daly briefly outlined the approximate
ost toeehe various property owners affected. This matter was referred to the Street

Steele arrives
Councilman Steele arrived at this time and assumed his duties.
Mayor
Mayor Anderson announced the appointment of Councilman Steele as the City's represent
tive upon the Olympic Health Board.
City Attorney
The City Attorney reported all assessments for sidewalk work being done in connection
with the Street Lighting project paidd with the exception of three; and of these three
two had signified their willingness and intention to pay such assessment.

Requests for building permits were presented, read and acted upon as follows:
