L"ayor Anderson inquired of Dr. Benham, who was present, if there erere anything he mlgh
like to add, verbally, at this time. Dr. Benham stated that it was with considerable regre
r,

that he visa making this change but he felt that it consituted an opportunity for advancemen
of which he should avail himself. Ile informed the Council that he had requested Dr. Kahl
of the State Dept, of health to be present for this session in order that he might advise
the Council of the proper steps to be taken in the matter but that Dr. Kahl had been unable
to attend.
Dr. Benham advised the Council that some temporary provision for filling his position
pending appointment of his sLmessor will have to made. He stated that he might be in the
city on Thursday to meet with the County Commissioners relative to this action and should
such be the case the Council would be so advised in order that the city might be represente
Dr. Benham concluded by saying that 1n any advent he would in the future be quite close to
this area and would at all times be very happy to help the city and county in any way
possible.

Resignation accepted.
It was moved by Councilman Gleason and seconded by Councilman Benedetto that the city

accept, with regret, the resignation of Dr. Benham, as tendered. -otion carried.

F. 1;. 1495 letter of 1 Februa:•v 1948 reference to marking of cross walks speed limits
etc, would appreciate your givQng this you consideration.
Also we sould litce to recommend for your consideration the installation of blinker typ
lights at intersections of %rater and Tiler Streets and taylor and 719shington Streets
we feel that these two points are definite traffic hazards, also that appropriate stop
signs be placed on Lawrence, L"onroe and 'pater Streets.
We would appreciate four taking this matter under advisement.
