Dear Sir: We would like to commend your deptt for the prompt and efficient way they took care of the report we made to you of the dangerous condition at 13th & Cleveland. The gravel will also keep the dust down in the summer months. Sincerely yours, Mr. & Ira. Merril Jones Councilman Gleason stated that his reason for bequesting the reading of this letter was to show that there was some appreciation of service rendered by the Street Dept. and that comment was not all in the form of complaints, From Parent Teachers Association, to -wit: February 14, 1948 City Council City of Port Townsend Attention: Mayor Marry E. Anderson Gentlemen: We, the Port Townsend Parent Teachers Association, heartily endorse the safety measures recently suggested by the local Verterans of Foreign Wars and suggest that the City Council consider these measurer for adoption at their earliest convenience. Petition for water service at Kuhnville A petition requesting extentfon of city water service to the area know as Kuhnville Addition to Hadlock was presented and read as follows: We, the undersigned, petition, the mayor and Councilmen of the City of Port Townsend, Plash. through the U. S. Navy, Indian Island, flash. That we may have a water tap installed at a point near the forks of the Nordland Ferry and Oak Bay roads at Hndlock, for the pur- pose of buying water for domestl,e use, to serve the residents of Kuhnville Addition to Had - lock. Councilman Mueller stated that the Plater Line from which it was proposed that water be taken for the service requested in the above petition was the property of the Federal Government and was under the control of the U.S. navy, and that arrangements to take water therefrom mould therefor have to be made with that agency. Mayor Anderson requested the City Clerk to so advise the petitioners. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business before the Council for their consideration at this time, it was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Carroll that the Counci do now adjourn. ¢notion carried.
