RE(ZUISITIONS
From Street Department
A requisition by the Btreet Dept. for 1, new 2 ton truck complete with hoist and 3
yard dump body, was presented and read.
Requisition granted.
It was moved by Councilman Yueller, and seconded by Couhcilman Steele, that the foreg
requisition be granted and that the City Clerk be directed to publish a call for bids to
furnish the desired equipment, said bids to be opened at the regular session of the City
Counbfl.to be held upon January 2Oth, 1948. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen prey
voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
ORDINANC'r'S AND RESOLUTIONS
Fourth greet vacation ordinance.
A form of ordinance providing for the vacation of a portion of Lourth Street in the
Eisenbeis -ddition was presented and read in full for the first reading as follows:
ORDINANCE NO.
AN-RDINANC_ of the City of Povt Townsend vacating a portion of Fourth Street in the
City of Pa-t 'lownsend, Townsend, °efferson Uounty, VIashington.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT •-X.::SEND do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That portion of fourth ,treet situate between the easterly land of
Sherman Street and the westerly line of Hendricks Street, be and the same is hereby
vacated.
Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port 'iownsend Leader to
be in force and take effect as Provided by law.
Passed by the City Council, December _, 1947
Approved by the !.'ever, December _, 1947.

It was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by "ouncilman Carroll, that the first
reading be considered as the second reading and that the third reading be by title only.
Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion eras
declared carried. .
Third reading and passage.
The ordinance under consibration was read by title only for the third reading, and it
was thereupon moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman :ueller, that the
ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call vote affil seven Councilmen voted in the affirmative
motion was declared carried.

Trucks to be sold
Councilman Yueller reported that the City now owned two trucks heretofore used by the
Garbage Dept. for which the City no longer had any need, and moved that.the City Clerk
issue a call for bids to purchase said trucks from the City; such bids to be opened and the
reaular session of the City Council to be held upon January 6th, 1948. Upon roll call vote
all seven Councilmen
.present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
City Engineer reports. .
City Engineer Keith F. Jones reported completion of the estimates for consunction of
concrete sidewalks at locations heretofore designated by the Council'and presented members
with copies of plans and estimates and verbally expiained the same.
City Engineer Jones reported also, verbally, upon the oiling program completea during
the year 1947 and filed a copy of costs with the City Clerk.
He: Program of sidewalk repair.
Councilman Gleason spoke of the matter of needed repairs to sidewalks in the main
business area and moved that the City Engineer be directed to prepare an eatimate of cost
of the necessary sidewalk repair in the area designated for the installation of the new
ornmental street lighting upon the basis of the making of such repairs in conjunction with
the installation or the street lights, and to apportion the cost of such repair to the
fibutting Property. This motion was seconded by Councilman Carroll and carried by voice vote
of the members present.
