The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session
this 21st day of October, 1947, at 7:45 o!clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City
nail, Mayor H. E. Anderson presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officer's and members answering present to roll call were as follows: Mayor, H. E.
Anderson; Clty Attorney A. J. Daly; City Clerk C. F. Christian; and Councilmen Geo.
Mueller, H. E. Gleason, A. Benedetto and Dennis Sulllvan.
MINUTES OF PE VIOUS SESSION
The minutes of the statutory (budget) session held on Octobdr 6, 1947, were read and
following completion thereof it was moved by Cuuncilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilm
Sullivan, that the minutes be approved as xritten. Notion carried.
REPORTS 01' OFFICERS
City Treasurer
The monthly report of the City Treasurer for the month of September, 1947 was present
and read and was referred to the Committee on finance and Claims.
Water Supt.
The monthly report of the 14ater Supt. for the month of September, 1947, was presented
and outlined and was referred to the Committee on Water and Lrainage.
The report of the Water Supt, showing flow of water through mainline meters for the
six day period ending October 20th, and the Crown Zellerbach Corp. twenty inch meter for
the seven day period ending October llth, was presented and read and was referred to the
Committee on taster and Lrainage.
BUILDING PERLiITS
A single request for a building permit was presented, read and acted upon as follows:

Gentlemen:
Permission is requested to re -shingle the roof of my dwelling, situate
841 Tyler Street with asphalt shingles; at an estimated cost of approximately $160.00
for materials.

It was moved by Councilman Sullivan, seconded by Councilman Benedetto, that permit,
as requested by wr. Kenyon, be granted. Motion carried.

city for such work.

It was moved by Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Councilman Mueller, that the
Council approve the request of Mrs. Minish and grant permission. Motion carried.

UNFINISHED AND NE'S BUSINESS
Phillips Add. Street vacation hearing.
This being the time and place set for the Nearing upon the request of Don M. Adkisson
for the vacation of parts of certain streets in the Phillips Add. to the Citv of Port Town-
send, the City Clerk at this time read the notice of hearing, together with affidavit of
posting some, in full, as follows:
NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
IN THE LATTER OF THE VACATION OF PARTS
OF CERTAIN STREETS
Don z,. Adkisson, having filed with the City Council of the City of Port Townsend,
Jefferson, County, Washington; a petition requesting the vacation of parts of certain a
within said City, to -wit:
Those certain streets and alleys in the Phillips Addition to the City of
Port Townsend, 1i.'P., as per plat recorded in volume 2 of Plats on page 2,
records of Jefferson County, running North and Sourth between the Northerly
line of 15th Street and the North boundary line of Eddy Street and the
ylesterly line of Eddy Street and the 'Westerly line of Katherine Street.
The Streets to be vacated in said Addition are namely, 16th Street, 18th
Street, 20th Street and those:'portions of Cliff and Gibbs Street lying
North of the Northerly boundary line of 15th Street.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
That pursuant to a motion dul,� made, seconded and passed by the City Council of the
City of Port `ownsend on the 5th day of August, 1947, the said petltlon will be heard at
the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as practicable, on 'Tuesday the 21st
day of uctober, 1947, in the Council u^ambers of the City Hall of the City of Port Townsend
Jefferson County, Washington, when and where any person or persons may anpear and make
exceptions or objectYons to the proposed vacation.

C. F. CHRISTIAN, being first duly sworn on oath, deposes and says that he is the
regularly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Port Townsend, State of
Washington; that he posted notices, the annexed of which is a full, true and correct copy,
in the following places in the said City of Port Townsend, Washington, as follows:
On: at the front door of the Uity Hall in the Uity of Port Townsend.
One at the front door of the Jefferson County Court House.
One on the bulletin board at the corner of 11Wlor and Water Streets
in said City, and
Eight on the parts of streets sought to be vacated;
That such posting was made on the 20th day of August, 1947.

Street vacation Franted.
It was moved by Councilmen Dweller, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that inasmuch
as there appeared to be no objections the street vacation requested by Yr. Adkisson bd
approved and granted. Upon* roll call: vote Councilmen Mueller, Gleason, and Sullivan voted
