It was moved by Coubcilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the first
reading be considered as the second reading,and that the third reading be by title only.
Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared
carried.
Third reading and passage.
The proposed ordinance was read by title only for the third reading and following such
reading it was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the
ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affir
mative and motion was declared carried.

This being the dr,y and time set for the opening of sealed bids to Drovide the Garbage
Dept, of the city with a truck chassis as authorized at a previous session of the Council,

Bid accepted.
After due consideration of bids offered it was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconds
by Councilman 'ullivan, that the bid of the Olympic Garage & Equipment Co. be accepted as
being the most satisfactory offer to meet the city's requirements. Upon roll call vote
all seven Councilman present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Re: Sidewalk improvements
It was moved by Councilman Osborne that the Gity Engineer be instructed to prepare an
estimate of cost for cement sidewalks at the following location: On both sides of Gashing -
ton street between Adams and Taylor Streets; on the north aide of Water Street from Madi-
son Street to the Louis Aptr.; and on the west side of Adams Street from iYater Street to the
Port Townsend Mortuary. This motion was seconded by Councilman Benedetto and carried by
voice vote of the members present.
he: Examiners report
City Attorney Daly remarked upon the very favorable comment given City Officials in th
report of the State Examiner recently received and stated that he felt that this report
deserved some publicity.
It was moved by Councilman Gleason, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the
contents of the Examiners report be offered to the local press as a public document provide
there be no cost to the city for any publication of same. Motion carried.
Re: Street lights on 14ashington Street
Councilman Carroll introduced the matter of additional street lighting on Washington
Street inasmuch as the operation of the new Memorial Athletic Field for night events would
greatly increase pedestrian traffic in that viclnty. Councilman Carroll moved that the
Committee on Fire and Light make an investigation of the needs of additional street lightin
on P:ashington Street between Tpylor and Monroe Streets. Councilman Steele seconded this
motion and following vote thereon motion xas declared carried.
City Engineer Keith Jones offered the information that plans for the permanent bleache s
provided for installation of six lights on the'outer wall of such bleachers for the illumine
tion of that portion of Washington Street, and this fact could bd taken under consideration
in the preparation of plans by the light corunittee.
ADJOURNMENT
No further business appearing for consideration by the Couicll at this time, it was
moved by Councilman "arroll, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the Council do now
adjourn. h.otion carried.
