Cony of bid.
Port Townsend, "ashington
June 30, 1947
To the honorable Mayor & "ity Council
City of Port Townsend
Port 'Townsend, Aashington
:fe propose to build Fire Station'as per plans dated October 22, 1946 and
revised by letter dated April 25, 1947, written by vied B. Stevens, architect, 2119
Smith Tower, Seattle, Tin, for the sum of (150,500.00) Fifty 'Thousand, rive Hundred
Dollars, with the following chances.
Par. 4 Overhead doors to be bhanged to local stockdoors and suitable
har6ware. .
If selected coupon brick are used for face brick in lieu of Roman brick,

Cotton engineering & "hipbuiiding Corp.
Harry A. "otton, President.
Councilman Gleason explained to the or•ficinis present that the make of door designated
in the original specifications would have to be procured fr;>m the east and would entail
considerable expense to procure, but that a door or doors of a lice type and of good quality
could be fabricated locally to effect quite a saving. Ile explained further that it might
be advisable by reason of the difference in cost to change t pe of brick used as shown in th
above bid, and reccorended that this matter lay over to the next regular session for consid-
eration and opportunity for approval by the architect,of the proposed changes.
An informal diaussion ensued relative to the above proposal, during :which the committee
report was by request reread by the City "lerk. Following such discussion it was moved
by Councilman Car_oll, and seconded by Councilman Osborne, that the City Clerktogether wit!
the City Atto:ney, communicate with the architect Mr. Stephzm.nnd the State r' inanco Comunitt
e
in order to determine their approval or rejection of the changes proposed. Motion carried.
