L, Lockhart, City Supervisor of Public Buildings, who had been directed to make a thorough survey of the condition of the roof of the Public Library Building, reported that the building was beyond a doubt in need of a new roof. Upon thorough inspection it had been determined that the present metal roof is in much vrorse condition then would appear to be the case. ;dr. Lockhart recommended the use of rigid composition shingles for renewal of the roof and stated that the gutters had been properly installed ordini lly could not be satisfactoryily repaired and should therefore be replaced. Re: Low Bost Housing Upon invitiation by the Mayor so to do, Yr.Vlard 1`illiams introduced t the Council .r. James Lannon and Yr. Robert C. Parsons representatives of Watheny & Company. L7r, Hannon as spokesman, stated that Matheny & Company could now off erlow•cost prefab icated homes and briefly outlined the advantages clFimed for t`lis construction. He sta ed that these homes had been approved by the F.H.A., and ;were acceptable for the grantin of the so-called G.I. home loan. Yr. Hannon advised the Council that his object in apneari g before them was to secure approval by the Council, for submission of such data to the Local housing committee should one exist, or to the Chamber of Commerce. Dicussion insu d during which several questions were submitted by members of the Council and ans•,vered by Mr. Hannon, but no official actionwas taken by the Councilin as much, as an official housi g committee does exist in this city and the Council is therefore in no position to take official action.
