COL^LUNICATIONS.
From Public Library, to -wit:
The Honorable Mayor & City Council
Port 'Townsend, •,ashington
Gentlemen:
The Public Library was completed in 1913 and still has its original tin roof. This
of has leaked badly at times during the last 30 years due to apparent ppor material or
stallation. The inside type gutter has been renewed from time to time and is now beyond
onomical repair.
The roof can undoubtedly be repaired and the gutter renewed but the expenses of their
eration on a 34 year old roof in its present condition is nor considered good, resourceful
onomy.
It is recommedned that a complete new roof of modern materials (asbestos tile and copper
tters) be installed, which should not require further maintenance for years.
The cost of this is estimated at •about 42000.00. This ;:ill require an additional
Tlocation by the Council.
Respectfully submitted,
ti Hazel O'Rear, Secretary.
Port Townsend Library board.
