Benedetto, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington April 15, 1947 Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington' Dear Sirs: I wish to request permission to move one small wood frame building from Block 16 of the original townsite of Port 'Townsend, to Block 165 of the L. B. Hastings 2nd addition to Port 'Townsend. To level Lots 2, 4, 6, and 8 in Block 15 and Lots 2, 4, and 6 in Block 16, all in orginal townsite of Port Townsend. And to construct a wood retaining wall across said lots. Approximate cost of material to be 9r400.00. Sincerely, Pilliam B. Benedetto Councilman Gleason reported that he had discussed the matters contained in the fore- going nommunication with the writer and had informed said writer that it could be necessary to post adequate bond with the city to obtain permission to move the building as requested. It was moved by Councilman Carroll, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the permission requested by Mr. Bennedetto be granted provided 1.r. Benedetto furnished a satisfactory bond in the sum of 05,000.00 saving the city harmless against all claims or damages arising therefrom. IGotion carried. Sullivan, DeChamplain Street Vacation Request to -wit: Port Townsend, 'Nashington April 5, 1947 Honorable 1.syor and City Council City of Port 'Townsend Gentlemen: Request if hereby made for the adoption of an ordinance vacating - That portion of 5th stre:t in the lst Supplemental Plat of Eisenbeis Addition to the City of Port Townsend, lying between the westerly boundary of XcPherson street and the westerly boundary of the plat of said addition. The portion of the street sought to be vacated is a dead end. We are the owners of all the property, to -wit: Blocks 313 x 319 of said addition, on both sides of the portion of the street described, as well as all the other property on westerly side of the westerly boundary of the sedition that could be served by the continued opening of the portion of 5th street. It is understood and agreed that no cost shall entail to the City of Port Townsend by reason of this application, or the publishing of an ordinance of vacation. Respectfully submitted. It was moved by Councilman Carroll, that the Council accept the foregoing petition for vacation of a street and that the City Clerk post proper notices as required by law for a public hearing upon the proposed %r cation at the regular session of the City Council to be held on the 20th day of +gay, 1947. This motion was seconded by Councilman ,:ueller and carried by voice vote of the members present. From American Legion Festival Committee, to -wit: Port 'Townsend, Washington April 15th, 1947 Honorable Mayor and City Council City Hall Port 'Townsend, ':.ash. Gentlemen: V.e hereby respectfully request permission to hold the annual Rhododendron Festival in Port 'Townsend during the week of May 12th to 18th, 1947 in actor dance with the customs and practices of the past festivals. Vle also respectfully request permission to hold a carnival as represented by the Ziegler Shows during the time of the fe:tival and as part of it. The carnival to be located on blocks 53 and 54 of the Original T'ov:nsite which is part of the proposed Jefferson County Llemor•ial yield.
