ORDINANCE NO. 2I� AN ORDINANCE relating to the program of capital improvements within the City of Port Townsend and creating the "Port Townsend Street Lighting -State Development Fund" to receive funds allocated to said project by the ashington State Development Board. ^1iEREAS, the 7.1ashington State Development Board under authority of Chapter 255, Laws of "'.'ashington, 1945, has approved an allocation of $24,627.46, of state funds by outright grant for the purpose of aiding in a program of capital improvements within said city to consist of a modern street lighting system on certain streets of this city heretofore designated, and, CIREREAS, in order to make said state funds available, it is necessary that a special fund be created for said project, now therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TUNNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Theve is hereby created in the City Treasury of the City of Port Townsend a special fund designated the "Port Townsend Street Lighting -State Development Fund" into which fund shall be paid all monies allocated by the Washington State Devel- opment Board under Chapter 255, Laws of Washington, 1945, as a grant to cover the con- struction cost of certain capital improvements within the City of Port Townsend to con- sist of a modern street lighting system to be installed on certain streets within said city heretofore designated, located and approved by the City Council. Expenditures fro said fund shall be under regulations as established by the 'Nashington State Development Board. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader to b in force and take effect five (5) days from and after the date of such publication. PASSED by the City Council February _, 1947. APPROVED by the A:ayor February _, 1947. Mayor ATTEST: city clerk It was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Mueller,that the first reading be considered as the second reading, and that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared carried. Third Reading and Passage The ordinance under consideration was read by title only for the third reading, and it was thereupon moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the ordinance do nor., pass. Upon roll call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirm- ative, and motion visa declared carried. UIIFIIIISHED AND 10'.' It was the consensus of opinion by the members present that to limit the Police Department,for any t} 'tty ti; period of time, to one vehicle would hamper the department in the performance of their dutie Discussion was terminated by the motion of Councilman Gleason that this matter be carried over to the next regular session for further consideration.
