Other short dis- cussion followed, terminated by roll call vote upon the motion to pass, and upon such vote, Councilmen Gleason, Benedetto, Sullivan, Carroll, Mueller and Steele voted in the affirmative, and Councilman Osborne voted in the negative, and motion was declared carried and ordinance passed. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Gasoline Bids Onened Ili This being the time and date set for the 2onsideration of bids to provide the city with 4� gasoline for the year 1947, bids received were opened and priced noted, as follows: Union Oil Company 7600 - Premilun Gasoline, 19F per QQal.; 76 Gasoline, 16je per gal. Standmrd Oil Company - Chevron Supreme Gasoline, 18¢ per gal.; Chevron Gasoline, 16d I per gal. Shell Oil Company - Premium Gasoline, 18¢ per gal.; First Grade non -premium Gasoline, 16¢ per gal. Business divided. After thorough consideration of the bids submitted, it was moved by Councilman Idueller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that in as much as each company had bid the same amount per gallon on the regular first grade gasoline, deliveries should be divided smoVng the three bidders, and each of the three companies should alternately deliver for a period of one month in succession. Upon roll call vote, all seven councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared carried. Re: Blaine Street as Through Street In the matter of the consideration of the designation of Blaine btreet as a through street, with exceptions from Monroe Street to Pierce Street, which wen referred to the City rgineer at the last regular session, City Engineer Lay reported at this time that he had (discussed the matter with Councilman Carroll, the original proposer, Chief of Police Geo. i•illestoft and City Attorney 7% J. Daly, and from the information provided by them, he had laid out this plan upon a map, which map he presented at this time for consideration by the members of the council, and after thorough inspection by them, it was filed with the City Clerk. It was moved by Councilman Carroll that the Police Department, together with the Street Department, be authorized and directed to install the required traffic regulation sighs to iconform with the plan as submitted. This motion was seconded by Councilman Gleason and carried by voice vote of the members present. )� Re: Garbage Collection Rates Councilman Sullivan stated that the Committee on Health had hold a meeting at which the had discussed the matter of the operation of the garbage collection service. It had been determined that the revenue derived from this service at the present time -.-.,as insufficient t meet the actual operating cost, not considering the depreciation of equipment and replacement thereof.
