to our community in the way of fire protection. also what opinion the Washington Litw

delay in replying. "'a have been much engaged in a hearing before the Interstate
Commerce Commission for control of the Washington Motor Coach Company by they
Greyhound Corporation and your letter was overlooked until today. �'
Present indications are that we will be unable to meet with you to discuss ar
a bus depot in Port Townsend until some time shortly after the first bH the year.
We will advise you, however, as soon as possible as to what date we can meet
with you.

THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON:
The undersigned owners of real estate abutting upon that portion of Fourth
Street hereinafter described do hereby petition the City Council of the City of a
Port Townsend, State of Washington, to make vacation of and to vacate that part
of Fourth Street located in Efsenbeis Addition to the City of Port Townsend,§_ 3 �r

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS.
Music Machine License Ordinance. (2nd Reading)
A proposed ordinance providing for the licensing, by the city, of mechanical music
machines, which was read in full for the first reading at the last regular session, and is
incorporated in the minutes thereof, was presented and read in full at this time for the
second reading.
It was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the third
reading be by title only. Upon rollecall vote all six Councilmen present voted in the
affirmative and motion was declared carried.
License Fee determined.
It was moved by Councilman Mueller, and sedonded by Councilman Steele, that the license
fee as provided for by the ordinance be set at the sum of $30.00 per annum. Upon roll call
vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Third Reading and Passage.
The proposed ordinance was read by title only for the third reading, and it was there-
upon moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Mueller, that the ordinance do
now pass. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and
motion was declared carried.
Coin Lachine License Ordinance. (2nd Reading)
A proposed ordinance providing for the licensing of coin operated machines or devices,
which was read in full for the first reading at the last regular session and is incorporated

in the minutes thereof, was presented and read in full for the second reading at this time.
It visa moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the third
reading be by title only. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the
affirmative and motion was declared carried.

The proposed ordinance was read by title only for the third reading, whereupon it was
moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilmen Sullivan, that the ordinance do now
pass. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was
declared carried.
Street Lighting Fund Ordinance.
A form of ordinance providing for the creation of a fund to receive monies for the
project of improved street lighting in the city was presented and read in full for the first
reading, at this time, as follows:

AN ORDINANCE relating to the program of capital improvements within the City of
Port Townsend and creating the "Port Townsend Street Lighting -
State Development Fund" to receive funds anticipated to be allocated
to said project by the Washington State D velopment Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsendthat the Washington

State Development Board under authority of Chapter 255, Laws of '✓;eshington, 1945,

will make an allocation of state funds by outright grant for the purpose of aiding
is�a program of capital improvements to consist of a modern street lighting system
on certain streets of this city heretofore designated, and

WHEREAS, it is probable that such allocation by the Washington State

Development Board will not be made during the fiscal year 1946, but in order to
provide for a fund to receive such allocation when made, and in order to presenve

and avoid the lapsing of matching funds heretofore budgeted by said city for the
Current Expense Fund as an aid in the construction coat of said project, the City
Council of the City of Port Townsend hereby finds and determines that such special
fund should be forthwith created and established now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOA14SEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There id hereby created in the City Treasury of the City of Port Townsend

a special fund designated the "Port Townsend Street Lighting -State Development Fund"
into which shall be paid all monies allocated by the Washington State Development Boar
under Chapter 255, Laws of Washington, 1945, as a grant in aid toward the construction
cost of capital improvements to the City of Port Townsend to consist of a modern stree
lighting system to be installed on certain str-eets within said city heretofore designs
located and approved by the City Council.

Section 2. Into the fund hereby created, the City Treasurer shall forthwith transfer
from the Current Expense Fund of said city the 1946 budget appropriation for the

purpose aforesaid and shall likewise as soon after January 1, 1947, as practicable
transfer the 1947 appropriation for such purpose in like manner.

Section 3. The allocation of the Washington State Development Board and the transfers
hereby authorized shall constitute the whole of said fund and shall represent the
anticipated construction cost of said project. Expenditures from said fund shall be
