Re: Policemen over Sixty-five Councilman Benedetto introduced the matter of replacing members of the police force who had attained the age of 65 years or thereabouts, and stated that he felt that such men were in capable of properly performing police duties, and that the Council should request the resignation of such persons. Councilman Gleason stated that in such matters, it would be the duty of the Committee on Police and Licenses to make recommendations to the Mayor, who is the appointing power for the Police Department. ADJ OURNhT-:NT There being no further business before the Council for their consideration, it was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the Council do now adjourn. Motion carried. E. Anderson presiding. I. ROLL CALL i Officers and members answering present to roll call were as follows: Mayor H. E. Anderson, City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen A. Benedetto' Dennis Sullivan, J. hi. Carroll, and George F. Mueller. Councilmen H. E. Gleason and Ralph H. Steele arrived during the session and Councilman William Lammers Sr. was excused from attendance. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION Gleason and Steele Arrive Councilmen H..E..Gleasdn and Ralph H. Steele arrived during the reading of the , Minutes and assumed -their duties. The Minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was thereupon moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded -by Councilman Steele that the Minutes be approved as read. Notion carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS: City Treasurer The monthly report of the City Treasurer for the month of June, 1946, was presented and read and was referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims. BUILDING PERMITS From George L. Gunn, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington July 15, 1946 is Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a concrete block store building, 1001 r. 150t, on my property situate Lots 2, 4, 6, and 8, Block 132, Original Townsite; at an estimated cost of approximately $6,000.00 for materiels.
