Mr. S. F. Lake stated that the merchants in the uptown business � ,A �7{2� r i � 1 district had not considered that their area would be effected by such installation and c h f�'a -,� . + therefore such merchants r` }, had not seen fit to be resent at `�,� p previous sessions, Councilman Carroll stated that the g'•�? purpose of the installation of parkin meters was to aid in the control of traffic; that the installation of said meters had been ordered for a trial period of six months and should they prove unsatisfactory, the meters would be removed at the termination of such that the matter be given a fair trial and an expression of approval or disapproval be made at approximately the termination of the trial period. Councilman Gleason stated that he felt that the segregation of uptown businessmen and downtown businessmen was entirely beside the question ` inasmuch as anything that was good for a portion of the City was of benefit to the entire City and vice versa,?
