The business view of this building from the street is being obstructed by the bill-
board that is situated very close to the sidewalk. For obvious business reasons it is
hereby requested that this billboard be removed.

In addition, this same billboard presents a hazard to public safety inasmuch as the
upkeep of it has been somewhat neglected and as a result, some of the back props are quite

Honorable Mayor and City Council
City of Port Townsend
Gentlemen: Mr. W. H. Carder, Vity school superintendent, informed me the other day that h
proposes to cover the play area of the school grounds with an asphalt plant mix.
In this connection I have instructed Mir. Lyall Arey to work out an area of certain
our streets that should be treated with a commensurate mix in order to remove the riffles
from hills on the streets indicated.
The area sought to be served is represented on the attached sheets.
I feel that if we work 1n conjunction with the school system a cheaper price may be
obtained and the objectives accomplished.
Very truly yours,
ROLLIE STAHL
City Street Superintendent
This matter was referred to the Committee on Streets and Sewers.
