The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, !.'ashington, met in regular session this
22nd day of January, 1946, at 8:00 o'clock P., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
Mayor, 'r-. E. Anderson presiding.
ROLI, CALL.
Officers and h:embers answering present to roll call, were as follows: Mayor, H. E.
Anderson; City Attorney, Yl. J. Daly; City Clerk, C. F. Christian; and Councilmen A. Benedett

J. i:. Carroll, Geo. F. Mueller, and 11. E. Gleason. Councilman Ralph H. Steele arrived durin
the session, and Councilman !:m. Larmers Sr. Y'ras excused from attendance.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION.

The minutes of the previous session of the council were read, and upon completion there

of, it visa moved by Councilman :Dueller, and seconded by Councilman Gleason, that the minutes
be approved as read. Lotion carried.

Councilman Steele arrived during the reading of the minutes, assumed his chair, and

voted upon the foregoing motion to approve the minutes.

HEPCHTS OF OFFICERS.
City Treasurer.

The monthly resort of the City Treasurer, for the month of December, 1945, was present-
ed and read, and visa referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims.

The monthly report of the 'linter Superintendent, for the month o1' December, 1945, was
presented and reed, and wad referred to the Committee on !'later and Drainage.
The report of the !'later Superintendent, showing flow of water through mainline meters
for the week ending Jan. 21, 1946, was presented and read,rand rrss referred to the Cormdttee
on :"star and Drainage.
Mayor announces Library Board appointment.
Mayor Anderson reported that it was his pleasue to an�iint Mrs. Hazel O�Heer as r
a member of the library Board, to serve for a term of five years.

It was moved by Councilman Gleason, and seconded by Councilman Mueller, that the counci
approve and confirm the foregoing appointment. Votion carried.

From State Board of Vocational Education.
A form letter of the State Board for Vocational Education, signed by the director there

of, inviting the•fire chief and assistant to attend a two day conference At Mount Vernon on
February 9th and loth, was presented and read and ordered filed.

Following careful consideration of the bids tendered, it was moved by Councilman

Gleason, and seconded by Councilman Benedetto, that the bid of the Shell Oil Co., same bean
the lowest and best bid, be accepted and contract a'aardcd thereto. Upon roll call vote,
Councilmen Benedetto, Car:•oll, dueller and Gleason voted in the affirmative, and Councilman
Steele voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared carried.
