It was moved by Councilman Sulliman, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the fore - Ding bills be allowed and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign wabrants, ssued upon the proper funds, in payment thereof. The report of the committee on finance and claims, to whom was Deferred the matter of the Treasurer's report for the month of June, 1945, was presented and read, and ordered fi BUILDING PERMITS. Requests for building permits were presented and read, as follows: From Paul deChomplain, to -wit: Port T'ovmsend, Washington August 6, 1945. Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to build an addition, 16'x 261, to my dwelling situate 5th and McPherson Streets; at an estimated cost of approximately $300.00 for materials. Gentlemen:- Couldnft there be a little work done on 27st St. from Jackman east for a block or so? 7,'hen I built on 27 and Holcomb the Street was pasniable but it has gradually grown up to rose brush & weeds until it is scarcely a bridle path. I must get my mail on Discovery Road and really the street should be fixed for many other reasons. Thanking you: -in advance for any thing you can do I am Yours truly E. L. Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Port Townsend Gentlemen: Your Civil Service Commission, having no forms available „hereby submits its preliminary budget for the year 1946, as follows: Salaries and wages $ 300.00 Operation and maintenance 200.00 We would further recot=end that an emergency ordinance be forthwith adopted to provide for the salary of our Secretary for the year 1945, that is to say, from the month of April, 1945, to the month of December, 1945, ine., at the compensation of $25.00, monthly, and such other and additional amount as appears necessary to take care of postage, printing, and other incidental expense.
