Ericl:sun, manager of the local Crown Zellerbach mill, relative to the flow of water through the "Hadlock-Irondule" line, with particular emphasis placed upon the periods during the year 1944 when the flow exceeded the lease amount, ',vas read, as follows: February 10, 1945 City of Port Townsend Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: We note from the local piper that; you are contemplating extending your water supply lines in Chimacum, which connect with the six inch connection to the system now under lease to us as referred to in the Modification of Lease, dated February 24, 1942. In view of the fact that for more than twenty days during July 1944 and for approximately ten days in September 1944 you exceeded the 300,000 gallons per twenty -lour hour day which you are permitted to draw under the terms of the lease as modified, we call the matter to your attention so that you may guard against any future violations of this provision. UIFINISRED AND NEW BUSINESS Councilman Benedetto inquired as to ,whet action had been taken in the matter of the Willow Street Sewer, and Attorney Daly stated that he had neglected to bring the papers to this meeting. Re: P. T. A. Program mayor Anderson stated that he understood that firs. Zylpha Davis, who was present in the council chambers, had a request to place before the council for their consideration. Mrs. Davis informed the Members that she had been delegated to speak as a rep•esenta- tive of the Parent Teacher's Association, and stated that following the last war a period of increased ,juvenile crime had boon experienced, that a like increase was anticipated to Jo llow this war, and that it was the aim of the Association to prevent, insofar as possible such a recurrence. She said that Or. W. H. Carder, who was also prescnt,-had the outline of the plans considerec fur t1is purpose, and ackec him to present them at this time. Mr. Carder stutod that no definite program had been established but that the general idea was to provide other activities to hold the interest of the children. A lengt:•:y discussion ensued with many question asked and some of them answered, and some not; and the opinion of the council seemed to be summed up by Councilman Mueller'ts question, "Just what do you ::ant the Council to do", and his further statement to the affect that it would be necessary to propose a definite course of action lop the Council to consider, before anything could be accomplished along theme lines, by the Council. The problem of the maintenance of an adequate school boy patrol wasincluded in the discussion. {r, ,� 1•" �N he: School Boy Patrol Mayor Anderson asked that the Police Committee of the Council look into the matter �4Y} 9f of the maintenance of an adequate school boy patrol at hazardous intersections, with lmt;j i special consideration being given to the cooperation and assistance which could be given by the City Police Dept.
