Building and Miscellaneous A report from the Committee on Building and Miscellaneous, was presented and read as follows: Pm t Townsend, ,.ash. Feb. 6, 1945 To the Honorable Limy or and City Council of the City of Port Townsend Gentlemen, Your Committee, on Building & Miscellaneous, to whom was re- ferrod the matter of the application of E. A. Plitheridge,tomove a building in the First Fire Zone to another location in the same zone, would respectfully report as follows: That Ordinance No. 815 prohibits such action, and the commit- tee cannot ttherefor recommend that the permission requested, be granted. A. Benedetto Wm. Lammers Sr. H. E. Gleason Request Denied Councilman Lammers asked for a reading of the original application of E. A. Witberidge for pxrr•.icsion to grove a building in the first fire zone, which application had been referred to the building comnittdo at the last regular cession; and upon completion of the re -reading of said application, it was moved by Councilman Lammers, and seconded by Councilman Gleason that the request be not gs•onted. Motion carried. Streets and Setters Councilman dueller reported that the Street Committee had investigated the request of I.r. J. L. Van Valkenburg for the vacation of certain streets, and that it was the recommendation of the committee that the request be denied, and the matter tabled. i ge Water and Drainage F, Councilmen Steele reported that a meeting had been held to consider the matter of the awarding of the, bid for the proposed pipe line replacement; that the alternate bid of THE STEEL TANK & PIPE CO, was recommended by the committee; and moved that said bid be accepted. Councilman Mueller stated that there was some doubt in his mind as to the propriety of accenting this bid, inasmuch as there had been no opportunity for competetive bidding upon the basis of the proposed type of pipe to be furnished. 0
