It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Lammers, that per-
mission as requested by Mr. O'Neill be granted. Motion carried.

A letter transmitting a ballot form to be used in recording this cityts approval or
objection to bills, which the Assoc. proposed to sponsor at the next term of the State
Legislature, was presented and outlined,and •,was referred to the City Attorney.

Gasoline Bids Opened
Bids for the furnishing of gasoline for the various departments of the city, for the
year 1945, as ordered at the last regular session of the Council for presentation on this
date, were opened and rend, and upon such reading, it was found that the Union Oil Co., of
Cal., Standnrd Oil Co., of Cal., and Shell Oil Co., Inc., had tendered bids identical in
price, to -wit: Premium grade gasoline, 18� ner gallon, first grade non -premium gasoline,
16G per gallon. Tide -water Associated Oil Co., tendered a letter stating their inability
to bid, because of insufficient allotment.
Contract Awarded
It visa moved by Councilman Carroll that the three companys offering bids as listed
above, be awarded contracts upon the basis of supplying the city for a period of four
months each; the City Clerk to designate the period allotted to each company. This motion
^gas seconded by CouncilmanSullivan, and carried unanimously by vote of the members present.
Canvassing Board Lamed
Itayor Anderson at this time, designated IGyor Pro-tem vim. Lammers Sr., City Attorney,
117. J. Daly, and City Clerk, C. F'. Christian, as a Board of Canvass, to determine the
results of the City General Election, held on the 5th day of December, 1944.

recess at this time for a short period. Motion carried.

C. F. Christian, being first duly sworn on oath deposes and
says: that at all times herein mentioned, I was and now: an the
duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of ?ort
Townsend; that on the 3rd day of November, 1944, I posted a copy
of the notice attached hereto at each of the seven voting places
designated for the seven precincts of the city as described in
said notice; that in addition thereto, I posted in each of the sev-
en voting precincts as designated in said notice two additional
copies thereof.
Subscribed and sworn to before me this 19th day of December,
1944.

Certificates of Election to be Issued
It was moved by Councilman Drown that the City Clerk issue Certificates of
Election, in accordance with the return of the Board of Canvass. This motion was
seconded by Councilman Sullivan and carried by voice vote of the members present.
Call for water Line Bids Ordered
Idr. Paul T. Paulsen, Engineer employed for the project of replacement of certain
portions of the main water supply line, reported that preliminary work had been
accomplished, and plans and specifications drawn, copies of which were now avail-
able, and that it would be well to place a call for bids for such work in the near future.
It was moved by Councilman Carroll, that, having had the report of hr. Poulsen, the
City Clerk publish a call for bids for such wort:, said bids to be opened at the regular
session of January 23rd, 1945. This motion was seconded by Councilman Sullivan, and
upon taking of a voice vote, was declared carried.
Bond Purchase Authorized
It eras moved by Councilman Carroll and seconded by Council:•.rn Lareners, that the
City Treasurer be authorized and instructed to purchase 7/8 `.' U. S. Certificates of
Indebtedness, in the sum of ":20,000.00, from unobligated moneys in the Olympic Gravity
Cuter Fund, as a contribution of the City, to the 6th ;'far Loan Drive. Upon roll call
vote, all five Councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared
carried.
City Attorney Daly tool: this occasion to ash Councilman Brown if, insofar ac he
knew, he would be able to attend the regular session of the Council, to be held on
January 2nd, 1945. Councilman Bro:vn replied that he definitely would be in attendance
at such meeting,. barring unforeseen circumstances.
