Upon roll enll vote, all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared carried.. Child Care Center Emergency Ordinance An emergency ordinance to provide additional funds for this city's contribution to the Child Care Center, which is proposed to build upon the site of the old Central High School, was presented and read in full for the first rending, as follows: ORDINANCE NO. Ail ORDIIiANCE of the City of Port Townsend providing for the inmie- dints appropriation of money from the far Liquor Tax Fund of said city for the purpose of providing additional contribution toward the construc- tion cost of the proposed Child Care Facility within said city and de- claring an emergency. 71ILREAS, at the time of the adoption of the official budget of the City of Port Townsend for the '17ar Liquor Tax Fund for the year, 1945, there Bras provided as the city's contribution to the total cost of the construction of a suitable Child Care Facility within said city, to meet matching funds of the Federal Government and School District No. 50, Jefferson County, the sum of $4,000.00, and 7.11EREAS, it now, appears upon ❑ call for bids and opening thereof, that at least the sum of ip4,200.00 additional, is required to complete said project, and, 7?HEREAS, The City Council of the City of Port Townsend has been informed that School District He. 50, Jefferson County, 'Washington, will provide one-half of said deficit in the event the City of Port Townsend provides the remainder, and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is in the best interests of said city, and all the people thereof that such provision be made and that the facts requiring such additional appropriation could not have been foresoen at the time of the adoption of the official budget of said city for the year 1945. Section 2. The proposed ordinance, being of an emergent nature, must by law, lay over to the next regular session. - Utd'r'INISIED AND NEW BUSINESS r% Garbage Department Collision reported Councilman Sullivan reported that one of the city trucks used for the collection of garbage, had collided slightly with a car owned and operated by i!r. Bernard L:ullaney, and inquired of the Attorney, as to what action should be taken in the matter. The City Attorney stated that it would be necessary for the injured party to submit a claim to the city, before any action upon the part of the Council need be taken. st," ADJ OURTItiENT No further business appearing for the consideration of the meribers present at this time, it was moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the Council do now adjourn. :Lotion carried.
