Re: -Housing Authority 1.nter Contract
City Attorney Daly, reported receipt of a now contract for supplying of water
to the Olympic View Housing Project, together with a letter from Mr. Stanley A. Furman,
which wns read as follows:
Seattle, 1, Washington
November 4, 1944
Regional Office
1326 Fifth Avenue
Kr. W. d. Daly, City Attorney
Port Townsend, •ashington
Dear L'r. Daly:
This acknowledges your letter dated October 30th wherein you state
that members of the City Council will not agree to any rate other than
"as fixed and determined in our Ordinance and previously sent out in
letter form to your Authority".
Le feel that our long negotiations must some time come to an end.
Le have, therefore, revised the original contract submitted to you
wherein the City of Port Townsend undertakes to supply the water service
requirements of housing project 17ASH-45222. The revised contract
recites in its Section 3 "Rates" and its Section 5 "Payment" the amend-
ments suggested in your letter dated Lugust 31, 1944.
Having made these changes requested by you, we trust that you will now
deem it proper to advise the City Council of Port Townsend to sign,
seal and attest five copies of the proposed contract and return them
to this office for execution on behalf of the Federal Public Housing
Commissioner, after which an executed and a conformer] cony will be
returned to the City far its files.
Sincerely yourr,
Stanley A. Furman
hegional Counsel
