Y,ithin the month we propose to continue our study with the objective in view that a commensorate reduction be afforded to commercial users. Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to build an addition, 161 x 201, to my dwelling situate Llaple and "0" Streets; at an estimated cost of anoroximately $60.00 for materials. C OLI9;UII IC AT IONS Statement of Canvass of Special Election The Statement of Canvass of a Special City Election held in the City of Port Townsend, on July 11, 1944, ,,.,as presented and read in full, as follows: ZTt.TE::PTiT OF CANVASS OY SPECIAL ELECTION held in the City of Port Townsend, ";ashington, July 11, 1944. Honorable Idayor and City Council, City of Port Townsend. Gentlemen: In accordance with your call for a Special Election within the City of Port 'Townsend to be held at the same time, and in connection with, the general primary election on the llth day of July, 1944, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1170 of the City of Port 'Townsend, where it was requested that there be submitted to Lhe qualified voters of the City of Port Townsend, for ratification or rejection Ordia:ancc No. 1169 of said city entitled: " An Ordinance accepting the bid of Crown Zellerbach Corporation for the louse of that part of waterworks and system of the City of Port Townsend lying outside of the city limits as described in Resolution No. 44-4 passed by the City Council and approved by the Llryor April 18, 1944, and directing the u.ayor and City Clerk to execute such lease." That there is attached hereto and made a hart hereof a copy of the Notice of such election; that said Notice was first nublished in the Port Townsend Leader .Tune 6th, 1944 and a copy of such notice posted at each polling place for such election June 9th, 1944; that said election was fairly and openly conducted on said date, the llth day of July, 1944, in conformity with said notice and with existing law. That on the 24th day of July, 1944, the Jefferson County Election Board canvassed t e returns of said election as submitted by the rlection officials of the seven voting precincts of said city and round and determined that 690 _ of the qualified electors of the City of Port Townsend voted at such spec3T- election of which number, 527- voted i•UR APPROVAL of said Ordinance No. 1169, and 347 voted oi' x' !gLJ:iC'TIO:1 of said Ordinance No. 1169. 1 • i i
