Motion carried. ? Anderson Mayor Effective July 31, 1944, your contract for Liquid Chlorine rill expire and vie wish to take this opportunity to thank you for the business it has represented to us and to enclose a new agreement for your ® consideration. The latter contains the same price, terms, and conditions which are now in force. The original and duplicate copies of the proposed new agreement are submitted herewith and if acceptable kindly sign both copies returning the duplicate copy for your records. ® Very truly yours, PENN. Shera Sales Department It was moved by Councilman Carroll and seconded by Councilman Buse, that the 3:ayor be authorized to sign the preferred contract upon approval of its terms by the 'Water Superintendent. Motion carried. From Assoc. of Stash. Cities Bulletins of the Assoc, of Dash. Cities were acknowledged and ordered filed for reference. He: -Stray Dogs A short discussion was held at this time, relative ;:o the regulation of dogs running at large, with no definite conclusion reached or acticn taken upon the matter. ORDINANCES AUL bESULUTIONS A resolution authorizing the purchase of U. S. Government Securities from unobligated funds of the water system, was presented and read in full as follows: hESOLUTION, NO. BE I'T RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, that the City Treasurer of said City, be and she is hereby authorized to purchase from the unobligated funds of the Olympic Gravity later System, such amount of 7/8% Certificates of Indebtedness as the Mayor and Finance Committee of the City Council may deem appropriate as a contribution of the City of Port Townsend to the. Fifth Slar blind Loan Drive, and in consonance with the financial stability of the said fund to so provide. BE IT FUR -HER IESOLVED, that said Mayor and Finance Committee meet in pursuance to this resolution so that the objective herein sought to be obtainec be accomplished at any date prior to the ® Bth of July, 1944. ADOPTED by the City Council June 20, 1944. ® Attest: Mayor City Clerk Resolution Adopted It was moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and motion was declared carried. UNFINISiiED AND IiE':: BUSINESS � Councilman Lammers reported to the Council that the bank on the north side of Stater Street, at a point approximately ,There intersection with Calhoun Street, was caving, and threatened to fall into Stater Street, thereby creating a hazard to traffic at this point.
