E. Anderson presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and members answering present to roll call were as follows: Llayor h. E. Anderson, City Attorney, V1. J. Daly, City Clerk, C. F. Christian, and Councilman Dennis Sullivan, Robert Pi". Brown, 'llm. Lammers, Sr. and J. L:. Carroll; Councilman Edward Buse arriving later in the session. IIIIIUPES OF PREVIOUS SESSION It was moved by Councilman Carroll and seconded by Councilman Brown that the minutes of the previous session be approved as written. l.;otion carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS City Treasurer The monthly report of the City Treasurer for the month of February, 1944 was presented and read and referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims. Plater Superintendent The monthly report of the 71ater Superintendent for the month of February, 1944 visa presented and read and referred to the Committee on l.later and Drainage. The report of the 'dater Superintendent shoaling flow of water through 20" city limits meter for the five day period ending March 20, through the 6" Had lock-Irondale meter for the week ending idarch 20, and the National Paper Products Company 20" meter for the week ending :larch 11 was presented and read and referred to the Committee on water and Drainage. COL:L:UNICATIONS Buse Arrives Councilman Buse arrived at this time and assumed his duties as Councilman. From Port Townsend Active Club, to -wit: 2-29-44 The Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Port Townsend, Ylashington Dear Sirs; The following resolution has been adopted by the Active Club at their last regular meeting and they request e• re your consideration thereof. ,� t:hereas requests have been made to the City of Port Townsend for replacement of certain portions of the city water supply line, and 1hereas the Active Club is a Civic Service organization, and 7,"hereas the Active Club deem it r:ithin their province in the determination of any factors that may affect the economic and industrial life of the city. Be it therefore resolved that the Active Club of the City of Port Townsend suggest to the Yayor and City Council of the City of Port Townsend to employ Engineering and Legal Consultants in the determination of the present condition of said water line and in any plan of replacement or additions thereto. Gentlemen: Reference is hereby made to letter of the Crown Zellerbach Corporation concerning the matter of making certain replacements to the nipe of our main water supply line commonly known as "Big Quilcene River 7iater Extension Project". By an informal poll taken Thursday, March 9th, ::hen the Council was meeting as a Committee of the ".'hole, it was unanimously ordered that the context of that letter be put in resolution form so that the question therein involved could be submitted to the voters of the City of Port Townsend for ratification or rejection. 01 • S S.
