izatfon by the Council to proceed with the drawing of tentative plans for the proposed
center. It was moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Carroll that :,Ir. Bugge
be granted the authorization requested. Motion carried.

Councilman Buse reported that the Chevrolet Coach operated by the Police Department 4rtIw�} H
was in very poor mechanical shape with regard to the motor and that some steps should be
taken to provide for keeping this equipment in the best possible shape at all. times in
view of the fact that it visa used for emergency purposes. A short discussion ensued and
the matter r:as then referred to the Committee on Police and License.

RESOLUTION 110.
-HEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Port Townsend,

by recognized and responsible citizens, a plan and method that may permit the construction
of a building upon Block 136 of the Original Townsite of the City of Port Townsend, suit-
able and conceivable of development into an adequate Recreational and Child Welfare Center
to meet existing needs, and,

;HEREAS, to accomplish this conception, federal, municipal and other governmental
financial aid and assistance isnecessary, and,

WHEREAS, it appears to said City Council that it is in the interest of said City, and
of all the people thereof, that the City of Port Townsend should participate therein,
therefore,
BE I'T RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and said City Council

does hereby pledge and bind said city for the appropriation and expenditure for the purpose
aforesaid of the sun of w1600.00, PROVIDED, HOl'IEVER, that the monetary arrangement as here-

resolution be adopted. Upon roll call vote, all five Councilmen present voted in the affir

It was moved by Councilman Bror:n and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the Council

Reconvened and Boll Call
The Council reconvened in regular session at 8:25 P.I:• and upon roll call the followin
officers and members were noted present: City Clerk, C. F. Christian and Councilmen Dennis
Sullivan, J. F. 14aroldo, Edward Buse, Robert 1,7. Brown and ' m. Lammers, Sr.
Street Department Emergency Ordinance Ordered
It was moved by Councilman Brown that the City Attorney prepare and the City Clerk
present at the next regular session an emergency ordinance providing for the expenditure of
,3000.00 for a construction of sea walls at the present southerly ends of rufncy and Tyler
Streets. This motion was seconded by Councilman Sullivan and upon roll call vote, all five
Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
