The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, ','lashington, met in regular session this
19th day of October, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
L:ayor 11. E. Anderson presiding.
ROLL CALL
Of.finers and members answering present to roll call were as follows: L:ayor H. E.
Anderson; City Clerk, C. F. Christian; and Councilmen G. F. illueller, Edward Buse, Vdm.
Lammers, Sr., Dennis Sullivan and J. Carroll. City Attorney, W. J. Daly, arrived during
the session.

i,iayor Anderson tool: this occasion to extend a welcome to a group of high school
students and to i+:x•. Arthur C. Boren, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of
Jefferson County, and introduced the Councilmen present for the benefit of those who
might not be acquainted with these men.
2LINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION
It was moved by Councilman Carroll and seconded by Councilman h:ueller that the minutes
of the previous session be approved as written, i+lotion carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS
City Treasurer
The monthly report of the City 'Treasurer for the month of September, 1943, was present
and read and referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims.
Daly Arrives
City Attorney, W. J. Daly, arrived during the reading of the Treasurer's report and
assumed his place in the proceedings.
7:ater Superintendent
The monthly report of the V:ater Superintendent for the month of September, 1943, was
presented and read and ordered referred to the Committee on 'Eater and Drainage.
The report of the 'Dater Superintendent shoeing flow of water through the main line
meters for the week ending October 18, 1943, and the National Paner Products Company's mete
for the week ending October 9, 1943, was presented and read and referred to the Committee
on water and Drainage.
REPORTS OhSTANDING 001,.S1TEES
Councilman Sullivan, reporting for the Street Committee on the matter of the request
of L:r. S. C. Huffman and J. L. Calkins for vacation of certain streets in the Fowler's Park
Addition, stated that this area was entirely undeveloped, that further develonment was ex-
tremely doubtful and that the ConL:ittee felt there was no reason for the Council to oppose
such vacation.
Street Vacation Hearing Set
It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Carroll that a hearing
upon the proposed vacation of certain streets in the F'owler's Park Addition as requested by
L:r. Huffman and iLr. Calkins and entered in the minutes of a former session of the Council
be set for the regular session of the Council to be held on the 7th day of December, 1943,
and that the Clerk post proper notices as required by law. iL;otion carried.

Requests for permission to build or to make alterations, additions or repairs were
