Re: Cherry Street Gravel Pit
Councilman Sullivan reporting upon the matter of access to the Cherry Street gravel
pit which was referred to the Committee on Streets and Servers at the session of May 25,
stated that various members of the Council, accompanied by the City Clerk and 117ater Super-
intendent, had made an inspection of conditions at the city -owned property commonly known
as the Cherry Street gravel pit. He informed those present that due to the manner in which
g::avel had been removed in the past and the amount of area involved, it :.as the opinion of
those who made the inspection that it would be advisable to make another entrance to the
area from "P" on Rose Street. Access at this point •pas not now possible because of the
presence of a wood -timber bunkers owned by Mr. A. II. Ywarsky, which were placed directly
in the street area of Rose Street between "P" and "G" Streets. These bunkers are not at
present usable and removal of them would provide access to gravel of a type not now other-
wise accessable.
A discussion pro and con ensued at the conclusion of which it was moved by Council-
man Sullivan that ISr. Ywaraky be reauested to remove the small bunkers now situated upon
Rose Street between "P" and "Q" Streets. This motion was seconded by Councilman Mueller,
and unon roll -call vote, Councilmen Lammers, Sullivan, Carroll, and Mueller voted in the
affirmative, and Councilman Bror✓n in the negative, and motion was declared carried.
