Re: Inspection Trip II Councilman Sullivan gave a detailed account of the travels and findings of the group of.city officials which had made the trip to inspect the area which the Forest Service had - proposed to log and had requested the city to make a statement upon as to their willingness I !to have such logging operations carried on at this point. The officials on this trip had also looked over the Lord's Lake area and the city lake installations. Councilman Sullivan' :report was acknowledged by the other members of the party to be a clear and complete word picture of the various subjects covered, for the information of those who had been unable tol take part in this inspection. Re: "Active Club" Proposal A delegation of two from the "Active Club" entered the Council Chambers at this time and upon being invited by the Mayor to report to the Council, Mr. Vern Miller stated that the members of the club had agreed to place the street marker signs in first-class condition) - ; and if the city would then maintain the signs now installed the club had signified its will- lingness to extend such help as needed in future matters contributing to the civic welfare; but that the club had definitely not been willing to take on the responsibility of the pro- {! per maintenance of the Taylor Street Terrace. Mr. Miller stated further that as a citizen and merchant of the city, he wished to bran j to the attention of the Council the matter of the signs upon Water Street signifying limi- o£ two hours upon parking between the hours of 9:00 A. M. and 5:00 P. M. He gave it !tation :his opinion that this ordinance should be more definitely enforced or that the signs ishould be removed. Councilmen Sullivan and Mueller in brief statements before the Council signified that they were not particularly in favor of the enforcement of a parking limitation upon the down -town streets. Councilman Buse outlined present traffic conditions and practices and the dangers treat- ed by the same and stated that he felt that the limitation of parking visa a step toward the elimination of these hazards and urged that the ordinance be definitely enforced. A general discussion ensued and it was agreed among those present that the enforcement lof the two-hour parking limit upon certain designated streets would be rigidly enforced starting within a few days in order that the traveling public might be properly notified. ADJOURNIhaNT No further business appearing for consideration by the Council at this time, it was moved by Councilman Carroll and seconded by Councilman Mueller that the Council do now ad- journ.
