Cities, and same was ordered filed in the.Clerk's office for ready reference. Motion carried. r ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS is A proposed ordinance providing for the payment of compensation to certain Councilmen �ejjjv,r of. this city for the year 1943 was presented and read in full for the first reading at this time as follows: ORDINANCE NO. F P., �t AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend fixing the salary and/or "r compensation of certain councilmen of said City for the year 1943. T THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND ID ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: n a ,� SECTION 1. That effective January Sth, 1943, the Councilman for the Third Ward / (two year term); the Councilman for the Fourth Ward (four year term); and Council- man for the Fifth 'Card (four year term) shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of $5.00 per meeting, providing that no compensation shall be allowed in ex- ceas of two meetings per month. SECTION 2. BUSINESS � L h Re: Garbage Collection Charges t� Mr. Chester Irle, ;,tanager of the Port Townsend Laundry, being present in the Council E Chambers and having a matter which he wished to discuss with the Council, was invited to speak to the members present at this time and present such matters. „ i rr .� Mr. Irle stated that he visa merely in search of information relative to the rates charged for the removal of garbage or refuse by the city department, because of the fact w i that charges for this service made -against said laundry had increased sharply during the ur past one or two months. i J r Mr. Irle was informed by the City Clerk who had specific information upon this matter that due to changes in the personnel of the said garbage removal department, charges for such services among business houses in the city had become out of proportion to the amount of rIarbage removed from various establishments.
