It was moved by Councilman Maroldo and seconded by Councilman Brown that the Council
recess at this time (8:20 P.M.) for a short period. Motion carried.

Gasoline Contracts Awarded
It was moved by Councilman Maroldo and sec.aded by Councilman Brown that contracts for
furnishing gasoline to the City be awarded to Associated Oil Company, -Shell Oil Company and

Standard Oil Company upon a basis of four months each. Upon Roll Call vote, all five coup-

cilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.

The City Council of the city of Port Townsend, Washington met in regular
session this
20th day of January, 1942 at 7:30 o1clock P.M. in the council chambers of the
city hall,
Mayor protem, 14m. Lammers, Sr., presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members answering present to the Roll Call were as follows:
City Clerk, C. F. Christian and councilmen Robt. W. Brown, Wm. Lammers, Sr., Dennis Sulli-
van and J. F. Maroldo, Mayor H. E. Anderson arriving during the session.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION
It was moved by councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Maroldo that
the minutes
of the previous session.be approved as written. Motion carried.
BILLS AND CLAIMS
It was moved by Councilman Maroldo and seconded by councilman Brown that
the rules
of the council be suspended to allow consideration of Bills and Claims against
the city at
this session in order that business for the year 1941 might be completed and
the City
Clerkts records completed for the fiscal year. Motion carried.
Bills and Claims against the city were presented and read by the city Clerk as follows:

Bills Allowed
It was moved by councilman Maroldo and seconded by councilman Sullivan that the fore-
going Bills be allowed and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to issue warrants
upon the proper funds in payment thereof. Upon roll call vote all four councilmen present
voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
APPLICATION FOR LICENSES
The application of Mr. R•. D. Faussett doing business as Black & White Cab Company was
presented and read as follows:
January 20, 1942
To the Mayor and Council
I would like to renew my Taxi Licenses for 2 cars and extend my Taxi zone app.,
Ten feet to allow for the two cars I am now using.

License Granted
It was moved by councilman Maroldo and seconded by councilman Brown that licenses to
operate be granted Mr. Faussett in accordance with the foregoing request and that the
matter of extension of taxi zone be referred to the Police & License committee together
with the Chief of Police and be dependant upon their decision. Motion carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS
City Treasurer
The monthly report of the City Treasurer for the month of December, 1941 was presented
and read and referred to the committee on Finance and Claims.
Water Superintendent
The monthly report of the Water Superintendent for the month of December, 1941 was
presented and read and referred to the committee on Water and Drainage. The report of the
Water Superintendent showing the flow of water through the main line meters for the week
ending January 19, 1942 and the National Paper Products Company's 20 inch meter for the
week ending January 17, 1942 was presented and read and ordered filed.
