HomeMy WebLinkAbout00108 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION (6)0 206 i_ MTN i Each and every person, firm or corporation having at any place or places within the Cit of Port Townsend,a device, devices, machine or machines for playing games of skill, commonl known as pin and ball machines or devices in which coins may be dropped for the purpose of operating said machine, which may be legally operated within the State of Washington, shall pay an annual license fee in the sum of $1,000.00 , for an owner's or operator's licensa and, in addition thereto, shall pay a fee of 2.50 er month, payable monthly in advance for each and every machine owned and operated by such licensee. No such machine shall be allowed to be played by any person under the age of twenty-one lyears. The Council shall have the right to reject any and all applications for operatorts Illicenses as it sees fit, an$ before any license is granted the application therefor must be approved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, to be in force and take effect January 1, 1942. PASSED by the City Council December 1941. Christian City clerk It was moved by Councilman Maroldo and seconded by Councilman Brown that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only. Upon „ Roll Cal 1 vote all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Third Reading and Passage The proposed Ordinance was read by title only for the third reading whereupon it was moved by Councilman Maroldo and seconded by Councilman Brown that the Ordinance do now pass. Upon Roll Call vote all six Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS RECESS It was moved by Councilman Maroldo and seconded by Councilman Brown that the Council ecess at this time (8:10 o'clock P.M.) for a short period. Motion carried. RECONVENED AND ROLL CALL The City Council of the City of Port Townsend reconvened in regular session at 9:10 •olclock P.M. and upon roll call the following officers and members were noted present: ayor H.E. Anderson, City Attorney Daly, City Clerk, C1 F. Christian and councilmen . F. Mnroldo, Robt. W. Brown, Vim. Lammers, Sr., Dennis Sullivan, J. M. Carroll and 1V. B. Cornett. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES The order of business was reverted at this time to'reports of standing committees and he following written report was presented to and read in full by the City Clerk: Your committee on Harbor and Health to which was referred the matter of purchase of truck for garbage disposal apparatus report as follows: After examining all proposals and equipment, recommend purchase of Ford 1i ton truck. Dear Sirs: We have been receiving a bill every month for rater far in excess to what one would normally consume under our circumstances. Approximately 18,000 gallons was ! used this month and over 20,000 last month. We have asked that the meters be checked which was done with but little if any results. It is quite safe to say that these figures appall us and we would like to meet with the City Council at their next meeting to explain this situation and see who if anyone is in error.
