City of Port Townsend
City Hall Building
Port Townsend, 7.1ashington
Dear Sir:
?!e hereby submit cu-,, bid for oil heaters for the City Hall building.
YIa have measured the rooms and considered conditions and have figured your
needs to be as follows:
3 4109C Superflame Oil Heaters is' $30.00 each $ 90.00
1 #41091,R " " ° 0 37.30 " 37.30
1 #4199T " " " 0 65.00 65.00
Total. for 5 heaters $ 192.30
The #4109C is a 9" pot which is 1" to 3" larger than other makes of this size
heater. Therefore, it will circulate considerably more heat of a like size stove.
The #4109LR is a larger heater t'__an the T4109C in that it is a longer heater
chamber and we believe that it will be necessary in the room at the south east corner of
the building, which is larder tl_an the other tiuee rooms. The 1-4199T is a twin pot burner ofextreme capacity for large rooms and halls.
It has the advantage of two pots in separate heat chambers and can be used individually in
not too extreme weather, thus malting it possible for a considerable saving in oil. This
heater has a seven gallon tank attached and should meet all the requirements for the fire
hall.
It is our understanding that you will accept bids on fittings and supplies to install
these heaters at the piece price contingent -on the number of pieces used. ^Ca submit these
prices on sane:
3/6 copper tubing 1.09•'„++1 per foot.
All brass fittings, couplings, etc. C 35% off
Imperial Brass Fittings found in most hardware catalogs.
On stove pipe, it is my understanding that most of this pipe will be used from the
stock you already have. Howev,m, we submit the following price on new pipe and such equip-
ment as necessary to properly install heaters.
6" Blue Annealed Stove Pipe C 241 per length
4" Blue Annealed " " Cu, 21V
6" Adjustable Elbow" ° C 50 Each
All it u u U 25:1 it
6" to 4" reduction collar C:30e each (note that the #4109C Heater uses 4" pipe)
we will connect these heaters to black feed pipe only. Galvanized feed pipes causes
a slugs in the oil and will clogg the feed of oil, consequently we will connect to black
pipe only.
Respectfully submitted this 30th day of September, 1941.

Our suggestion is for the fire hall to purchase the 41105 Spark Heater in order to
t 1k7 ` k take care of the exceLs amount of cold air coining into these rooms through chute.
It #1^ wf $ If this heater is desired in place of 701, additional charge of $5o for same. In-
