` Dear Sir:
The contents of your letter of Yay 2nd, concerning water supply to Fort
apt Flagler was thoroughly discussed by the City Council at its meeting on Yy 6th, and I am
cuthorized to hake reply to your four requests as follows:
a. The City will obtain all neccssar:; rights -of -way from the proposed tap
to the Portagc Canal and assigm the same to the government.
1). Permission is granted to the government to make the 6-inch connection
where desired.
C. i an informed that L:r. R. J. Young of Lieut. Hale's office at Fort Ilorden
s-' has already stained the route.
v d. The city has proposed to the National Paper Products Company that the
y lease now ezisting bctr:een that comnna; and the city, be modified and clarified to the
extent that there be but one tap on the r,.ain lint, viz, the present 6-Inch tap, and that
' this tcp never be increased in size. Consequently, under this arrangement, the city will
control all the water that the sir -inch. line will deliver, and onrraission of the paper
 •' company trill be unnecessary.
( In replay to your request for the details of the permit of the U. S. District
"nizyr Engineer's office, a thorizing the, nine line crossing at the Oak BarhCanal, a cursory
search of the filto in the City Fiall fail to bring this doci=ent to light, but today we
