Upon roll call vote, all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and the motion was declared carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS City Attorney Daly reported that the signs warning of the possibility of closing gate at the entrances to the Fort Warden Military Reservation, had been placed by the Street Department in such a manner as to warn the traveling public to the best advantage, and commended the personnel of the Street Departne nt for so doing. City Treasurer The following communication from the City Treasurer was presented, read, and ordered filed: February 25th, 1941. To the Honorable Mayor Ana City Council, Port Tornsend, Washington. Water and Drainage The report of the Committee on Water and Drainage, to whom was referred the letter of the Water Superintendent's report for the month of January, 1941, was read and ordered filed. Re: Guisti Complaint Councilman Carroll reported he had investigated the matter of the promiscuous dumping of garbage oy various persons in the vicinity of the Guisti home, near what is commonly known as "North Beach" and recommended that the premises now made unsightly by garbage placed thereon, could be cleaned by the use of a bulldozer or grader with the aid of a couple of men, and recommended that there then be a log barricade placed some few feet from the edge of the bank with a fence in conjunction for protection of persons. He stated that Mr. Gdisti would, at such time as this place was cleaned up, report further violations either as to person or license number of car, in order that proper action might be taken by the City. This matter was referred to the Street Committee with full power to act upon same. BUILDING P3111ITS Requests for permission to build were presented and read as follows: From Chorlet Edward Hanby, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington February 25, 1941 Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a six room, frame, dwelling, approxinatel.y 28' x 30', on my property situate L is 6 & 7, Block 265, Eisenbeis Addition; at an estimated cost of approximately $1260.00 for materials. Peterson, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington February 28, 1941 Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a. five room, frame, dwelling, approximately 32' x 421, on the property situate Lots 7 & 8, Block 11, Pettygrove's Addition; at an estimated cost of approximately $2,000.00 for materials. Motion carried. COL9dUNICATI ONS From School Board, to -wit: March 4, 1941 Hon. Mayor and City Council City Gentlemen: We respectfully ask your consideration of Street light installment at inter- section of Pierce and Van Ness Streets.
