Honorable Mayor and City Council
Port Townsend, Wash.
Gentlemen:
Mr. Julius Pederson, at a recent meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, mentioned the
numerous accidents and near -accidents that were oocuring in the vicinity of the Richfield
Service Station.
This seems to be a particularly dangerous section, and it was suggested that a blinker
light be placed at the intersection of Kearney Street and the State Highway.
The installation of such a safe -guard might be the means of decreasing accidents in that
locality, and we would appreciate the fact if you would give this matter your kind
consideration.
Attention was also called to the poor showing of flags on Lincoln's Birthday. Even some
public buildings appeared to have overlooked the day entirely. We trust that a better
display can be stimulated for the next observance of the Lincoln Holiday.
Very truly yours,
Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce,
By - Jas. G. McCurdy, Secretary.
