U➢`FINISHED AND IIEW BUSIIIESS The City Clerk informed the Council of the requirements of the light, State Higheray Dept., to preliminary to the installation of a traffic control (blinker) as explained him by County Engineer 13. A. nugge, and Yr. Bugge being present in the Council Chambers, was called upon and explained fully L?e requirements of the Highway Dept. and methods by which these could be made. It was moved by Councilman hicards, and seconded by Councilman Carroll, that the City proceed with the necessary steps to insure installation of the blinker light authorized at a former session of the Council, at the intersection of State Highway No.9, and 'Thomas Strcct. aotion carried. Daly Excused City Attorney Daly asked at this time to be excused from further attendance, and permission was granted. Opening of Gasoline bids This being the date set for the opening of sealed bids to furnish the City of Port Townsend with gasoline required by the various departa:ents for the year 1941, bids were opened and read as follows: Union Oil Company of California Ethyl Gasoline 15.37� per gallon 11761' " 13.37� it it A'hite Lagic Gasoline 12.37� it " Shell Oil Company, Inc. Standard's Supreme (Ethyl) Gasoline 13.o9� Standard Gasoline 12.23� Flight Contracts Awarded After short discussion among Co.:ncil members, it was moved by Councilman Ilaroldo that Shell Oil Co. and Standard Oil Co., as low bidders, be awarded the contract for the year 1941, on the basis of six months each, delivery to alternate between the companies each two months. This motion was seconded by Councilman "ornett, and upon roll call vote all seven councilmen present voted in the affirmative, and the motion was declared carried. Brown, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the Council recess at this time (8E45 P.L.) for a short period. l..otion carried. ® Reconvened The City Council of the City of Port Townsend reconvened at 9:20 o'clock., P.M., with the following officers and members present: ISayor H. E. Andcr::on, City `'lerk C. r' Christian, and Councilmen Robt. gown; 7,m. Lar¢ners, Sr.; Dennis Sullivan; J. b . Ilaroldo; and C. E. "ichards. Willow Stre--t Sewer Mayor Anderson reported that the Street "ommiittec and City Attorney, in cooperation with County Engineer ci. A. Burge, determine what action should be taken upon the matter of the Willow Street Sewer, and prepare a report to be given at the next regular session of the Gity Council. He also stated that the City Attorney was, at this time, instructed to draw up an emergency ordinance providing for the appropriation of the sum of $1000.00, for the purpose of making an initial payment toward the purchase of an additional light fire engine for the Fire Department of this City.
