It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Lammers, that per-
mission be granted in accordance with the foregoing requests, with the exception of the
request of Mr. Couture for moving a building. Motion carried.
Couture Permit Granted
It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Robt. mown, that Pr.
Couture be given permission, as requested, upon depositing with the City Clerk of $10.00,
to irsure against damage to City Streets. Motion carried.

A communication, showing the final assessed valuations upon which taxes will be
levied for the yecr 1941, was acknowledged by the City Clerk as showing a valuation of
$921,973.00, for the City of Port Townsend.

The City Clerk acknowledged receipt of a Wash. Netts Letter, a service of the Assoc.
i of Wash. Cities, and assured all present that same would be on file in the City Clerk's
office.

Reference contract # W 970-qm-504, covering supply of water to the Fort 7lorden Military
Reservation, it is requested that the following change in contract be made if acceptable
to the City Council:
"For the supply of water furnished in excess of 30,000,000 gallons per fiscal

It is estimated that the present monthly consumption of water will be increased by

approximately 2,700,000 gallons upon the arrival of the 248th Coast Artillery, Washington
National Guard, for a tour of duty of one year. The unit cost of 16 2/3� per thousand
gallons was determined from the present charge of $5000.00 for 30,000,000 gallons.
It is further requested that this matter be referred to the City Council as expeditiously
as practicable and this office notified of the decision.

A right of way having been granted to the War Department to lay cable underground through
Fowler's Park, a survey was made to determine the location of the right of way.
Inclosed herewith are drawings of the proposed right of way and a description of the
method used, both in duplicate.

In consideration for the right of tray, the government proposes to establish permanent
concrete markers at the fb llowing points:
East end of East Lfamond Street, S.E. corner of Block n48
