The CITY COU1401L of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session
this 3rd day of September, 1940 at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall; Mayor Hirtzler prosiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members answering present to roll call were as follows: Mayor Si. L.
Hirtzler, City Attorney "!. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian; and Councilmen J. F.
Maroldo, Wm. Lammers Sr., Dennis Sullivan, and Phillip E. Brown.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION
It visa moved by Councilman Maroldo, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the
reading of the minutes of the previous session be dispensed with. Motion carried.
BILLS AND CLAIMS
Muroldo appointed to Finance Committee.
Mayor Hirtzler announced that due to the continued absence of Councilman Richards
he would,aat this time remove said Councilman Richards from the Finance Committee, and
appoint Councilman Laroldo to fill this vacancy.

Bills allowed.
It was moved by Councilman
Lammers, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the
foregoing bills be allowed; and that
the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to issue
warrants upon the proper funds in
payment thereof. Upon roll call
vote, all four Council-
men present voted in the affirmative
and the motion was declared
carried.

The monthly report of the Chief of Police, for the month of August, 1940, showing
arrests and dispositions.of cases, was read and ordered filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMI.ITTEES
Councilman Lammers reported that the Finance, and ^later Committees had been unable
to examine the June and July reports of the City Treasurer and the Taber Supt.; but that a
full report would be prepared for the next regular session.
B!�ILDING PERMITS.
Requests for permission to build or to make repairs to existing buildings were
presented and read as follows:
