Honorable Mayor and Councilmen:

f. r nest_ that due consideration rot b given t m requesting n c _on o w o o eliminate or minimize the hazardous curve
at the corner of Jefferson and Quincy Streots. Taro have boon a good many accidents on
ti.is corner, viLich are all of record at the police station and the shoriff's office,
along with an untold number of near accidents. The Quincy Street an^roach is narrow and
not the most desirul:le for two -any traffic. Am certain cver.,rone of ,you have felt the same
way when you hove met a car traveling in the opposite direction on that hill or curve.
',could appreciate :'.caring I.'r. Backer, i.:r Phegley and :::r. Hanson's d6rommendations, along
with your co:a•nonts and safety measures in regard to this curve.
`Lary truly'yours,
7rs--Batty Temple
After so n discussion that included suggestions of wideninc; the curve, installing a light
and slow sirns, Police Chief Phoglay stated that whet people do socsnt necessarily prevent
accidents. He su;ested that a storm fence replace the p•onont wooden fence which would
Give a little but koap cars from going over the bluff. Lars Tomple said that her brother
ovrned the property along the corner and would donate part of it to vilden the road. Mayor
Sullivan referred the above communicat.'.on to City Engincor Becker and Street Supt. Aray for
study.
