Mayor Sullivan presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and members present wore as follows: Mayor Sullivan, City AttAbrnham, Councilman Clark Youngblood, Councilman 'Thomas, Hoglund, Judy, Siobonbaum, Lindsey,Carter. Ruby Absent. MINUT:3 OF TINE PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session wore road in full And it was moved by Councilman Hoglund seconded by Councilman Judy that the minutes be approved as road and the Mayor and City Clerk sign same. :Motion carried. (lotion carried. ryR(WY ),�A tti 5f�i.�i ysJ T`�y ftJ t'ri (P 1�ti.ite � )t! ^• 9 NEW & OLD BUSINESS Councilman Sibenbaum stated that he did not realize at the time when he called for a spa ci al meeting of the council after this regular meeting that it would be election. !is said that some of the councilmen wanted to leave early and suggested to postpone the meeting until November 9th at 7:60 p.m. and the meeting would be hold at the fire hall. Councilman Lindsey said that he felt that a charge should be made on all loading zones. After some discussion it was moved by Councilman Judy seconded by Councilman Hoglund that a charge of $B.00 per month be made on all londing zones. Motion carriedl ADJOURNIZENT As there was no further business to come before the council at this time it was moved by Councilman Sibonbnum seconded by Councilman IIudy that the meeting do now adjourn. Mayor Sullivan presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor Sullivan, City Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Youngblood, Councilmen Hoglund, Juldy, Ruby, Siebenbaum, Carter. Councilmen Thomas arl Lindsey absent. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session were road in full and it was moved by Councilman Hoglund seconded by Councilman Judy that the minutes be approved an road and that the Mayor and city clerk sign same. Motion carried. TEAR DOWa PERMIT The following tear down permit was presented and acted upon as follows: E. A. Hofmann, garage, lVtX16t, frame, Root & Madison, time 8 days. to abide by Ord. No. 907 It was moved by Councilan Siobanbaum seconded by Councilman Carter that the tear down permt be granted. Motion carried. CO"TUNICATIONS From Loren J. Northup, Patrolman, Police Dept. Nov. 13, 1965 City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: In reply to the letter received by me Oct. 19th, stating my retirement date as of December Ant, 1965. I wish to place before the Council my request for condideration of an extension on my retirement date. Ely reason for requesting thin extension is that I require eight (8) more quarters as of January 1, 1966, for my social security requirement. Any attention ,you may give this matter would be greatly appreciated by me. Sincerely Years Loren J. Northup Patrolman, Police Department Port Townsend, Washington Councilman Ruby stated that in order to hire another patrolman he would have to schooled, that patrolman Northup necdod 8 more quarters for social security and felt that he should be retained if possible so that he could receive the amount of quarters needed. Councilman Hoglund said that the had no o"jections in retaining Mr Northup an long an we are going by state law. City Attorney Abraham informod the council tlut they could retain Mr Northup one ,year at a t1me. Councilman Siebenbaum staged that he felt they wore going at this in the wrong way, it should be turned over to a committoe for study end a report brought back to the council. Councilman Ruby made a motion seconded by Councilman Carter that Patrolman Northup be rotair.}c for one more year from Jan. 1, 1966 to Jan. 1, 1967. Upon roll call vote Councilman Hoglun Judy, Ruby end Carter voted yao, Councilman Siobonbaum voted nee, two councilmen absent. Motion carried. From Book Publishing Co.
