The matter regarding the recreation cantor was discussed at the regular meeting of the Boar
y;! of Directors of Port Townsend School District to. 50 August 9, 1965. At that time, the
board expressed interest in receiving a specific proposal from the city regarding the
purchase of the recreat on center.
Your attorney can inform you of necessary steps to achieve such a transfer, We feel sure to. t
some sort of an agreement can be reached that will be mutually acceptable to the city and
} school district, as well as, the citizens of the area.

City Attorney Abraham :Mentioned that at off hand he didnt recall the terms of the lease,
but counciimans Carter committoe had some quostionn about the roof, if we are obligated to
maintain the roof thon would sug�:ost to wave a few things in this one requont. Councilman

City Engineer Bcckor explained the reason for the omoroncy ordinance, saying the budget

City Attorney Abraham reported that the city had a mammoth law suit w ich was scheduled

�a+ Councilman Ruby suggested to the council that the two city owned lots on Kuhn Street be
dedicated to the north Beach Community Club for park purposes, saying; that the park needed
vA more space for parking and etc. The councils opinion of Councilman Rubys request was to tak

ADO?TION OF TH3 1966 PRELIMINARY BUDGET
The City Clerk told the city council that the Mayors prolimnry budget was completed and
due to statute asked the adoption of same. It was moved 47 Councilman Siebenbaum seconded bN
Councilman Hoglund that the .Mayors Preliminary Budget for 1966 be adopted. ;lotion carried.
